On the cross, Jesus entrusted His mother to us. Mary is the most beautiful woman, fully alive in her identity as daughter, sister, bride and mother, and she can teach us so much about our femininity and about her Son. She is the saint who magnifies the Lord’s voice, untangles the knots we find ourselves in, and unveils the deep peace and love of her Son Jesus. At the last super and on the cross, Jesus gave us the gift of His body in the Eucharist. The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us, “the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith” (CCC 1324). Everything flows from the Eucharist and comes back to the Eucharist which is the very body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. At Sacred Beauty, our missionaries pray a Eucharistic Holy Hour every day. This sacred time of prayer and contemplation transforms our hearts so that we become more aware of Christ dwelling inside us and in those we serve. In conversation with St. Faustina, Jesus said, "The flames of mercy are burning Me — clamoring to be spent; I want to keep pouring them out upon souls; souls just don't want to believe in My goodness ... As often as you want to make me happy, speak to the world about My great and unfathomable mercy," (Diary, 177, 164). I grew up in a Christian home in the suburbs of Chicago, and from an early age, I was always drawn to Truth, Beauty and Goodness. This search ultimately led me to surrender my life to Jesus, and through Him I encountered the heart of the Father. Through my studies at Belmont Abbey College (2010-2013), my time as a FOCUS missionary (2014-2020), and my own journey in spiritual direction (2014-present), I have come to love and long for the peace of Christ which surpasses all understanding and the freedom that only the gospel brings. I told Jesus a number of years ago that I would live and die for souls to experience His interior healing and freedom, and now He’s allowed my life’s work to be about just that!
